How the End of the Trip Could Work — Options

Option A — Paris handover, Magdalena returns to Poland

• Thu 30 July — Jet, Bah, Grammy and Magdalena arrive Paris ~2:20pm by train from Frankfurt, into Gare du Nord
• Check in at Hotel Whistler - Gare du NordBah/Grammy's room already booked as part of the group itinerary; extra room needed for Magdalena — confirm directly with the hotel/travel agent, this exact date showed as unavailable via Booking.com when checked
• Magdalena's parent flies Warsaw → Paris Orly, ~10:45am-1:20pm, Wizz Air~A$131, lands early afternoon, good overlap with the group's train arrival
• Parent's transfer Orly → Gare du Nord — taxi recommendedfixed government rate €42 (~A$68), 25 min, handles luggage easily; RER B + Orlyval is the cheaper option (~€13/A$21, 39 min) if preferred
• Evening together in Paris — dinner near Gare du Nord, handover time
• Fri 31 July — split: Jet (+ Bah/Grammy) to Eurostar 11:02am from Gare du Nord → London; Magdalena + parent to Orly for return flight → WarsawWizz Air ORY→WAW ~A$215 each, or LOT CDG→WAW ~A$448 each
• Book the parent's one-way flight in early since it's cheap either way, but hold off locking the return flight/date until closer to the time

Option B — Magdalena continues on to London (their anniversary, 4 Aug)

• Magdalena travels with the group via Eurostar Fri 31 July, no separate parent flight to Paris needed
• Stays in London with Jet 31 July – 4 Aug, alongside Bah/Grammy at the Mercure London Paddingtoncovers their anniversary on 4 August — extra room needed, she's not on the original group booking, check availability/price for those dates
• Passport — if she doesn't already have one, apply for the temporary/emergency passport: PLN 30 (~A$12), issued in days given a justified urgent case, valid up to 365 days from issue. Apply in person at her local voivodeship office or a consulate — she needs the passport in hand before the ETA step below
• UK ETA (~£20/A$40) — once she has the passport: apply via the "UK ETA" app (scan passport + face photo, few minutes) or online at gov.uk/eta/apply. Most approved within minutes, some up to 3 working days — apply 1-2 weeks ahead to be safe, but it can only happen after her passport comes through
• Jet also needs his own UK ETA (£20/A$40, same app)no urgency for him — his passport's already sorted, apply anytime before 31 July arrival, e.g. same day as the eSIM purchase Wed 8 July
• Her own return flight London → Poland needed, timed before or around Jet's family departs London 4 Aug 8:50pmchecked Warsaw→London direction live: Ryanair (Modlin-Stansted) from A$42, Wizz Air (Chopin-Luton) A$96, British Airways (Chopin-Heathrow) A$257 — return direction (London→Warsaw) should be checked separately closer to the time, pricing isn't necessarily symmetric

• If Magdalena's parent also flies to London (chaperone, same pattern as the Paris option) — checked live using ~3 Aug out / ~5 Aug back as a proxy: parent's outbound Warsaw→London Ryanair A$77 / Wizz A$139 / BA A$286; return for both (parent + Magdalena) London→Warsaw Wizz A$124ea / Ryanair A$137ea / LOT A$228earough total: ~A$325 budget route, ~A$413 mid-tier, ~A$742 full-service via Heathrow both ends — same Stansted/Luton transfer trade-off applies

Documents & Entry

• Passport valid at least 6 months past 6 Aug 2026 return
• Printed copies of accommodation, return ticket, proof of fundsEES border check may ask for these — don't rely on phone only
• EES biometric registration awarenessfirst-time fingerprint + facial scan at Warsaw border — allow extra time
• Travel + medical insurance confirmed and documents saved/printed

Trip Planning

• Check travel time/distance for day trips from ElblągGdańsk ~1hr, Warsaw ~3hrs, Kraków much further — factor into what's realistic in a day
• Confirm how day trips to Gdańsk/Kraków/Warsaw are getting donecheck if any internal flights or trains need booking ahead, vs done spontaneously once there

• No doctor's letter required — none of these are narcotic/psychotropic controlled substances in the EU
• No formal declaration needed for personal-use quantitiesPoland's threshold is 5 packages per medicine type before written declaration is required
• Keep all three in original packaging with labels intact
• Pack only trip-length quantities, not bulklarge amounts can read as intent to sell even for OTC meds
• Optional extra precaution: a simple GP note listing the three medications and that they're for personal usenot required, but useful if questioned, especially at airport security

Before He Goes

• Agree a simple, low-pressure check-in plan with familynot daily — every few days is enough
